Media and Communication Manager, ARC Centre of Excellence for Climate Extremes

Mr Alvin Stone is the Media and Communication Manager for the ARC Centre of Excellence for Climate Extremes (http://climateextremes.org.au). He has previously worked at boutique agency Primary Communication, which specialised in energy clients, and WWF-Australia. Before coming to the world of media communication he was a multi-award winning editor with Fairfax and News Corp’s community papers for over a decade. Alvin’s primary focus at the Centre of Excellence for Climate Extremes has been to develop young climate scientists as media and public spokespeople. This is because he believes the next generation can get a head start by learning from the mistakes of their senior colleagues and at the same time add more voices to the public discussion.
