Senior Manager Communications and Events, Office of the NSW Chief Scientist & Engineer
Bruce is a former journalist and editor who spent over two decades working in magazine publishing.
As long-time Editor-in-Chief of Australian Men’s Health magazine, he faced one of the toughest communications challenges possible: trying to convince Australian men to buy a magazine which told them not to eat a pie and chips or drink bucket loads of beer… but to be sure to moisturise regularly.
Despite these seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Australian Men’s Health became the biggest selling men’s magazine in the country, winning Best Men’s Magazine category at the Australian Magazine Awards five years in a row, a feat unmatched by any magazine in the awards’ history.
Bruce commenced at the Office of the NSW Chief Scientist & Engineer in August 2017, initially working in OCSE’s Centre for Medicinal Cannabis Research and Innovation. He became Senior Manager Communications and Events for OCSE in February this year.
