National Publications Manager, St John Ambulance Australia
Gab Lhuede is the National Publications Manager with St John Ambulance Australia, based at the Australian Office in Deakin, ACT. Her main role is to maintain the technical and scientific standards of St John’s first aid procedures which are published in print and online, for the Australian community. Today (12 November) marks exactly 30 years working in Australian publishing, starting as a secretary with Blackwell Science (now Blackwell Publishing Asia) under the tutelage of the editorial and print production manager; with CSIRO Publishing learning typesetting and proofreading from an old newspaper linotypist; to Melbourne University Press and working with the best editors and authors (of the day!); and then with two Australian Indigenous publishing houses for a total of nine years.
