Founder and Director, Biotext
Dr Janet Salisbury left a career in medical research to take up science writing and editing. Her work mushroomed and in 1999 she founded Biotext Pty Ltd, which has grown into a leader in science information working with government, academic and private partners in diverse fields to bring important projects to life. Janet has written and edited numerous publications about health, agriculture and environment, and presented courses and talks on science editing and writing. She has always taken a keen interest in science style and was one of the first Australian science editors to pass the internationally recognised Board of Editors in the Life Sciences exam. This interest led her to initiate and champion the development of the Australian manual of scientific style, now published in partnership with Macquarie University.
