Managing Director, Crafting Astronomy Communication
Kimberly’s “trade” is physics and astrophysics however she has been working and volunteering in Science Communication for 14 years. Her science communication background is mostly in performance science communication having held several roles where she presented science shows to school groups and the general public. She also participated in the Shell Questacon Science Circus as part of the Master of Science Communication (Outreach) at the Australian National University in 2013.
One of the ways to help change how how science is viewed in the general public is to increase science literacy so that people understand the great work that our scientists do in order for communicators to disseminate it into the wider community effectively. Next for Kimberly is doing her part in this by continuing to excite people about science and science careers to increase science literacy in the general public.
Kimberly is also currently the President of the NSW Branch of the Australian Science Communicators where she is able to give back to and support the Science Communication industry that she so dearly loves.
