Dr Simon Knight is a lecturer in the University of Technology Sydney, Faculty of Transdisciplinary Innovation. Prior to moving to UTS he completed his PhD in learning analytics at the Open University, UK. Dr Knight is a qualified high-school teacher, with a Bachelors in psychology and philosophy, and Masters degrees in philosophy of education, and research methods in education.
Dr Knight’s work focuses on how people think about evidence and use evidence to inform decisions. His research has included investigating how people use search engines to find and evaluate information, and more recently how educators design assessments to understand their learners. He has a particular focus on how people integrate conflicting and uncertain information, and the ways educators across contexts can support navigating this complexity.
