Dr Meredith Ross is a communications and media professional at Sydney’s Garvan Institute of Medical Research, where she works with scientists to publicise the Institute’s most impactful new research. A life sciences researcher by background, Meredith left the lab 13 years ago to follow her keen interest in how science is shared with the world beyond the research institute. She has since worked in science communication and outreach across a range of sectors, including publishing and educational resource development for schools, as well as her current media role. Meredith sees science media as a ‘long game’, and is no stranger to the battleground where hype, integrity, clarity and public trust can collide.
